Unplugged Canada
Unplugged Canada unites and empowers parents and caregivers to prioritize their children’s mental health by pledging to delay smartphones for their kids until at least 14 years. As evidence mounts around the harmful impacts and the distracting and addictive nature of smartphones on kids, parents across Canada have joined the collective movement to hold-off on smartphones and consider low-tech alternatives. Recommended by The Canadian Pediatric Society’s Centre for Healthy Screen Use as way for parents to navigate digital tech with kids and teens, Unplugged Canada’s parent pledge has been endorsed by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario, supported by Sick Kids Policy Accelerator, The Raffi Foundation and many more organizations concerned about the impact of smartphones and social media use on kids.
