SEC maintains its head office in Newmarket and provides direct human services for 19 programs, which include Supervised Access, EarlyON Child & Family Centres, Welcome Centre for Immigrant Services – Newmarket and numerous Before & After School and Licensed Childcare programs.

•enjoy working collaboratively with team members to provide excellent customer service and high quality School Age programs
•have the ability to plan, develop and implement age appropriate programs that value play and inquiry as a means to actively and intentionally support all areas of a child’s health, development and overall well-being
•have a good understanding of the Early Learning for Every Child Today, as well as, How does Learning Happen? as the basis for program planning and implementation
•have a strong understanding of child development and play-based learning environments
•are a creative and dynamic professional with an ability to work independently and as part of the team
•have good organizational skills
•have a strong understanding of regulations and legislation in Early Childhood Development Programs
•are knowledgeable about the community of York Region

Location: Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Elementary School- 191 Crofter’s Road, Woodbridge, Ontario. This position is a contract position with a 10 month term, renewal contingent on funding and satisfactory performance.

Hours & Compensation:

We are looking to fill the following shifts:
•Afternoons – Monday to Friday 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm. $21.14 per hour ($16.14 base pay plus Wage Enhancement (currently $2.00) and General Operating Grants ($3.00).
•Split Shift – Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 9:30 am and 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm. $22.14 per hour ($16.14 base pay plus Wage Enhancement (currently $2.00) and General Operating Grants ($3.00). An additional Split shift differential of $1.00 applies.
•May be required to work 7 hours on all non-instructional days if needed (e.g. PA days)
•Opportunity to pick up additional hours supplying with different programs during the day

Education:
•Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education

Related Experience:
•Additional languages would be an asset
•1- 2 years’ experience as an RECE

Certifications:
•Standard First Aid & CPR C-Certification required
•Current RECE Certification required
•High Five certification is an asset

Technical Skills:
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Other:
•Recent Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screen; up to date immunization and 2 step TB Test; Valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation
•Will be required to attend meetings and/or trainings at various affiliated sites
