For many children, hair is deeply connected to culture, identity, confidence, and belonging. Hello Hair training uses hair care as a meaningful way to support children’s well-being, grounded in the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).
The training explores how hair-focused care can:
- Build inclusive curricula and authentic representation
- Support positive routines that reduce trauma and aid emotional regulation
- Challenge bias and promote anti-racist practices
- Use Dr. Marva Lewis’ Talk, Touch & Listen™ approach to nurture self-love and reduce anxiety
