Job Details

We are currently offering full-time teaching positions at our north location.

This position will take responsibility for teaching the English Language Arts program to our Preschool and Kindergarten aged children.

Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Supervisor and/or Director of the Child Care Centre; will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities for Preschool and Kindergarten aged children; Have knowledge of “How Does Learning Happen” and “Learning Through Play”; Ability to work in a team or independently; and, ability to work flexible hours.

Major Responsibilities:
– Plan and Implement learning opportunities/activities which are age-appropriate and of the children’s interest based on daily observations
– Organize and maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment
– Make certain that activities stimulate all the domains associated with the development of the children; emotional, cognitive, social, and physical domains of development
– The requirement to attend all staff meetings
– assist with record keeping (e.g. Daily Log Book)
– Maintain the equipment of the facility
– provide appropriate supervision of the children in our care
– communicate in a respectful and approachable manner with all members of our program – this includes the children, parents and guardians, and staff members.

Successful candidates must have the following:
– Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience
– Registration with the College of Early Childhood Education
– Certification of Standard First Aid and CPR level C
– Completion of Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (not older than 5 months)
– Experience working with Preschool and Kindergarten aged children
– Knowledge on “How Does Learning Happen?” and Learning Through Play” is an asset

CAPC (Community Action Program for Children) is currently looking for an RECE to work as part of the Vaughan CAPC team.  The Program Staff implements high quality, age appropriate, early years programs which enhance the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of the children.  Additionally, we provide services to support and strengthen families so that all children may reach their full potential.
